Vipers in Diapers

There's no doubt about it. I'm in an intense time of life. I realized that in a fresh way this morning with 2 toddlers clinging to me and sobbing, a pile of wash, school to be done, and a baby to nurse. I can honestly say, however, that i didn't feel overwhelmed. At least not much. :) Jacob is a complete sweetheart and school went quite well. It's the twins that stretch me and make me hold my head in my hands. Almost 2, with very definite explosions of will and opinions, they are capable of making me feel so inadequate and painfully aware of how human i am. I keep telling myself that in a short while their teeth will finally be through and they will return to their sweet selves. Even Marlin, who is the most consistent disciplinarian that i know of, shakes his head sometimes and utters the now famous phrase around here. "Vipers in diapers." I can't imagine having a man who isn't actively involved in their training, a lesser man would probably walk in with the world's biggest handful of birth control you've ever seen to make sure any other twins don't show up. We're crazy about these little vipers though, they have a way of wrapping their little screaming hearts around our fingers. I followed Jonathan up the stairs this afternoon, and as i watched his cute little jean clad rear, i knew that my love far outweighed my frustration. Most of the time. Someday they will be strong young men, treating their mama as queen............i can dream, can't i?

  3. Yup....I love it all. What I really love is your honest heart. But what I MOSTLY love is your willingness to let God refine you through it all. And I love that you love your kiddos the way that you do. They are treasures for sure, keep that good attitude. I love it and I love you for it. You go Mama. :)
